Frequently used translations

This is a list of terms frequently used in the A+ project and their translations. Terms useful to teachers are mostly towards the beginning of the table as well as in the listing of different assignment category names. The table is quite extensive to support improving user interface texts.

In the column ‘Context’, if the text is italicized, it is just an example of where it is used. If the text is not italicized, it’s a verbal description of the context where the term and translation are used (always or typically). If the first cell (‘Term’) of the row is empty, the row corresponds to another translation of the term listed above.

Assignment categories

Assignments created with a-plus-rst-tools have an attribute category, for which the default values (also known as category keys) are submit, questionnaire and feedback. However, different or more categories can be used as well. These are defined with the category option of the directives. The names of these categories can be set for each course in the conf.py file with the category_names dict.

In the table below are some examples of category names that have been used, and what the categories referred to in those contexts. If creating or editing a course, choose categories and category names which are most suitable for you, but this can provide inspiration or ideas. If you have used categories or names which aren’t listed in this table and think could be useful for others as well, please share them!
